Position Overview

We're seeking an experienced, creative, and highly adaptable Director of Photography to lead the visual execution of our Main Channel productions. In this dynamic role, you will maintain the highest standards of cinematography across studio, field, and varying scales of production while working closely with Producers, Creative, and the VP of Production to develop and execute comprehensive camera strategies. As a strong department leader who communicates clearly with Talent and enjoys mentoring crew members, you will oversee the camera department while remaining ready to personally operate equipment on select shoots.

An exceptional visual storyteller, you are deeply comfortable directing and operating in fast-paced, unscripted environments. You bring advanced technical proficiency with modern cinema cameras, lenses, lighting, and support equipment—including both high- and low-speed techniques. Above all, you remain calm under pressure and adapt quickly as live productions evolve, ensuring every project consistently meets Dude Perfect’s elite visual and technical standards.

Responsibilities:

Camera Leadership

Lead the camera department and freelance crew across all Dude Perfect productions

Establish and maintain visual standards for the brand and core formats

Direct and mentor camera operators and freelance camera crews

Collaborate with Production on camera staffing and technical planning

Identify and manage camera-related expenses, budget and needs

Oversee all company camera inventory and related assets

Cinematography & Production

Develop camera plans and shot strategies for each Dude Perfect production

Lead tech planning and scouts for all Main channel productions

Operate A-Cam and direct Talent on select productions as needed

Direct camera coverage during complex and multi-camera shoots

Ensure productions are visually compelling while remaining efficient and adaptable

Communicate with Post any on-set camera issues, and contribute feedback on edits, as requested

Work closely with Lead Editors to ensure every angle and all coverage needed for the edit is planned in advance and properly executed.

Technical Excellence

Partner with Dude Perfect Production and Post teams to ensure efficient camera workflows and seamless media management

Help evaluate cameras, lenses, and emerging production technologies

Maintain best practices for camera operations and technical production

Troubleshoot technical challenges before and during production

Have high regard for on-set safety protocols and risk assessment

Qualifications

7+ years of professional production or cinematography experience

Experience with A-list YouTube Creators and content is required

Passion and knowledge for family friendly content and sports entertainment a must

Great attitude and team-player mentality

Proven high-level experience leading teams on digital, broadcast, or commercial productions

Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed.

Expert knowledge of digital cinema cameras, lenses, lighting, and production workflows

Comfortable operating camera in-studio and run-and-gun environments

Strong physical production communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills

Location: This position is located onsite at Dude Perfect HQ3 offices in Frisco, Texas (Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex)
