About the company
Cerebrus Corporation is a growing engineering company that develops mechanical and electromagnetic products and services for the automation and manufacturing industries. As we expand our product line, we’re looking for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer who can take products from concept to manufacturing-ready drawings quickly and accurately, and who uses modern tools, including AI, to work smarter.
Your tasks
What You’ll Do
- Design mechanical and electromechanical devices for automation applications, from concept to production, using SolidWorks as your main daily tool.
- Build and manage complex 3D parts and assemblies in SolidWorks.
- Produce accurate, manufacturing-ready 2D drawings with correct tolerances, GD&T, fits and surface finishes, at a fast pace.
- Run FEA in SolidWorks Simulation to check and improve designs under load.
- Do engineering calculations and build Excel-based design tools to size components and speed up design work.
- Use AI tools to speed up and improve design, calculations, documentation and workflow.
- Carry out risk analysis (such as DFMEA) and define mitigation plans.
- Prepare technical data packages, design reports and manufacturing documents following our ISO 9001 procedures.
- Work with manufacturing and suppliers to resolve design and production issues.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering.
- 3–7 years of hands-on mechanical design experience, ideally in machinery, automation or electromechanical products.
- Excellent, advanced SolidWorks skills (essential): parts, large assemblies, sheet metal, configurations and detailed drawings. SolidWorks is the main tool used every day in this role.
- Proven ability to produce accurate manufacturing drawings quickly, with solid knowledge of GD&T and ISO/ASME drawing standards.
- Hands-on experience with SolidWorks Simulation (FEA), and the ability to interpret and validate results.
- Good understanding of machine elements, materials and manufacturing processes such as machining, sheet metal and injection moulding.
- Comfortable using AI tools in daily engineering work, and eager to find new ways to apply them.
- Good written and spoken English for reports and technical communication.
- Creative, organised, and a strong team player with a real passion for design.
- Based in Cairo (preferred), able to commute to our Maadi office 3 days a week.
Nice to Have
- Fluent English, spoken and written.
- Background in electromagnetics: magnetic circuits, actuators, motors or solenoids.
- Experience with electromagnetic FEA (e.g. ANSYS Maxwell, COMSOL, FEMM).
- Previous experience with FreeCAD.
- Experience with SolidWorks PDM, VBA/API macros, or Python for engineering automation.
- Experience working in an ISO 9001 environment.
