  • University degree, preferably in engineering or business
  • Several years purchasing experience, preferably in automotive
  • Good communication skills, fluent English (spoken and written) is a must
  • Business acumen
  • Self-driving and work independently

If you answer yes to the above questions then you may be the right person for the Project Buyer position within the Vehicle Metal team in Volvo Group Purchasing.

If selected you will be responsible for the sourcing and project activities for Body-in-white, Flat steel and Cab tilt. You will work closely with your colleagues in the project and commodity team and work to secure the future supplier base of the Volvo Group.

The Vehicle Metal team consists of thirty strong professionals whom are accountable for all the operational and project activities in Europe and to lead strategic activities globally.

Group Trucks Purchasing is a passionate team of around 1300 people located on all continents. We provide competitive advantages to the Volvo Group by selecting high performing suppliers to deliver the best possible products and services that add real business value for the truck brands of the Volvo Group.

ROLE DESCRIPTION

  • Develop the Sourcing plan for components & systems according to cross-functional time plans
  • Manage Sourcing activities in project phase
  • Drive the supplier selection process
  • Secure that supplier selection is in line with expectations (quality, cost, sustainability etc.)
  • Secure the outcome of the Sourcing in a contractual package
  • Monitor, identify and mitigate risks in the Project phase
  • Ensure that the supplier and its supply chain is prepared for production
  • Manage all project related supplier relations (meetings, documents, feedback)
  • Member in all cross functional teams and leader of some
