What we’re looking for
We are looking for a hands-on Sustaining Electronics Engineer who takes full ownership of electronics quality and production troubleshooting, reading schematics, defining test architecture, running EMS supplier quality, and closing defects independently, so the production line never stops.
The day-to-day
Troubleshooting: Diagnose and close any production electronics issue directly from Altium schematics and PCB layouts, no R&D handoff, no waiting
Test architecture: Define and own the full PCBA test setup, ICT, FCT, bed-of-nails, boundary scan, write all test code yourself (Python, µC firmware, NI TestStand ) and feed DFT requirements back into design reviews
Quality ownership: Author acceptance criteria, pass/fail thresholds, and NC dispositions with documented technical rationale; own IPC-A-610 soldering standards and ESD controls on the line
Supplier quality: Run PCBA EMS supplier quality end-to-end: FAI, incoming inspection, deviations, and corrective action closure
Field returns and root cause: Triage field returns, leadboardand system bring-up for first articles, and drive root-cause analysis to permanent corrective action
Change management: Own PCB modifications triggered bycomponent EOL, alternative functionality, or sourcing changes, from impact assessment through Altium layout changes, prototype validation, and EMS rollout
You should apply if you
Bring the right foundation: Degree in electrical engineering, electronics, mechatronics, aerospace engineering, or a comparable technical field
Read Altium cold: Derive a test or troubleshooting approach without support, live in the technica linterview
Know your PCBA processes: Solid hands-on experience in SMT/THT, IPC-A-610, ESD control, conformal coating and rework
Write test code yourself: Microcontroller firmware, Python, or NI TestStand; no handoff, no waiting
Own the full debug cycle: Oscilloscope, logic analyser, and multimeter are standard tools, not special occasions
Thrive in ambiguity: Self-directed, communicate clearly in English, and drive a defect from open to closed without R&D support. German is a plus
Nice to haves
Defenceor aerospace background: familiarity with qualification frameworks such as MIL-STD, DO-160, or EASA equivalents
Startup scaling experience: hands-on experience taking hardware production from prototype to series
Process quality tooling: PFMEA/DFMEA, AOI/AXI program setup, or statistical process control (Cpk, FPY, defect Pareto)
