THE ROLE
As part of the Technical Design team, you will be supporting Tefron’s initiative on thoughtful design, perfect fit, and solution-based apparel. We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to share in our company spirit and passion to knit the future.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:
Collaborate with designers to develop product standards across categories for fit, construction, quality and tech pack formats and maintain accuracy
Be able to issue precise specs and detailed garment construction adjustments
Leverage client feedback to establish consistency in fit across categories and fabrications
Measurement & inspection of garments to ensure workmanship reaches proper quality standards
Conduct fit analysis and fitting on live models and mannequins to reach styling interpretation and specs
Manage timeline to meet due dates & deadlines (both product development and production cycle)
Uploading samples submission measurements into PLM platform
Daily communication with overseas suppliers in a timely and respectful manner
WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
College or university degree in Fashion or related degree
4-7 years’ experience in fit or similar role
Technical knowledge related to product fit, pattern and construction to provide leadership for large and complex apparel development projects
Excellent knowledge of garment construction and fit
Strong organizational skills and detail-oriented
Ability to multi-task and prioritize
Advanced in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Adobe Illustrator (3D software is an asset)
Strong communication skills: spoken and written English skills are mandatory (French asset)
Must be able to work efficiently on a tight calendar, prioritize workload, meet deadlines and adapt to a fast-paced environment
Experience in intimates, seamless knitting or active wear preferred
Experience with a PLM system considered an asset
Ability to travel
PREFERRED QUALITIES
Passion and understanding of the intimate’s fashion industry, fitness/training, sport/activewear and youth culture spaces.
Aptitude for problem solving and finding practical solutions for design or production challenges
Ability to work collaboratively across cross-functional teams
