Senior Accountant
ABOUT THE ROLE:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our Finance team in Berlin as our General Ledger accountant. In this role, you will take ownership of the general ledger across our entities, with a primary focus on our German entity.
This is a full-time role base in Berlin.
ONCE YOU ARE HERE YOU WILL:
Own the general ledger across our entities, with a primary focus on our German entity, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and acting as the go-to person for GL questions org-wide
Drive month-end and year-end close, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are consistently met
Manage revenue recognition end-to-end, covering entries, compliance with IFRS 15, and monitoring transactions to catch and resolve discrepancies
Support financial statement preparation (monthly, quarterly, annual) in compliance with IFRS (and HGB for our German entity)
Deliver financial analysis that supports planning and decision-making
Identify and implement process automation to streamline manual accounting tasks and speed up close
Apply data analysis and AI tools to strengthen reporting accuracy, spot anomalies, and improve reconciliations
Champion new tools and ways of working across the Finance team
Support audits and cross-functional projects, including preparing audit schedules and contributing to accounting, process, and FP&A initiatives
WHAT WE NEED YOU TO BRING TO THE TABLE:
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a genuine data-driven mindset
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (Datev and Quickbooks is a plus); comfortable using automation and AI tools to streamline accounting workflows
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Proactive about bringing new tools, ideas, and best practices to the team
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Proficiency in English is required; German is a plus
