Spring Oak Management is seeking a hands-on Purchasing Manager to oversee purchasing, purchase approvals, vendor pricing, bids, contract reviews, negotiations, software management, and procurement reporting across multiple locations.
This is a senior purchasing role with responsibility for procurement strategy, vendor management, purchase approvals, reporting, bids, market baskets, and contract negotiations.
A major part of this role is managing our procurement software, On Care / Procurement Partners, including purchase approval workflows, vendor catalogs, item setup, pricing, reporting, and overall system accountability.
This role is heavily focused on dietary, food service, equipment, and operational purchasing. It is a strong fit for candidates with experience in restaurants, hotels, hospitality, food service, healthcare, senior living, supply chain, or multi-site operations.
The ideal candidate is organized, analytical, strong with Excel and software systems, comfortable working with vendors, and able to use purchasing data to improve pricing, approvals, consistency, and cost control.
Responsibilities
Oversee purchasing and procurement processes across multiple locations
Manage purchase approvals through On Care / Procurement Partners
Maintain procurement software workflows, vendor catalogs, item setup, pricing, and reporting
Review purchase requests for accuracy, pricing, budget alignment, and proper approvals
Manage vendor relationships and hold vendors accountable to pricing, service, and delivery expectations
Gather bids and compare market baskets for food, dietary supplies, equipment, services, and special projects
Review vendor contracts, pricing agreements, and contract terms
Negotiate pricing, rebates, contract terms, and service expectations
Prepare procurement reports and present findings to leadership
Provide monthly reports to communities on budget vs actual spend as well as spend and inventory analysis to identify areas for improvement
Track purchasing trends, approval patterns, cost analysis, and cost-saving opportunities
Work closely with operations, finance, and location-based teams to support purchasing needs
Qualifications:
Procurement, purchasing, vendor management, food service, hospitality, supply chain, or operations experience required
Experience in restaurants, hotels, hospitality, healthcare, senior living, food service, or multi-site operations required
Experience with food purchasing, equipment purchasing, inventory control, cost analysis, vendor contracts, procurement reporting, or purchasing systems required
Excellent Excel skills required
Strong negotiation, communication, and follow-through skills
Ability to review contracts, pricing data, reports, purchase requests, and purchasing trends
Highly organized with strong attention to detail
Comfortable working directly with vendors, leadership, finance, operations, and local teams
Ability to work full-time in person from our Wall, NJ office
Schedule
