SSI is seeking a Acquisition Specialist for a role in El Segundo, CA.
Role and Responsibilities include:
Provide advice to Program/Project Managers regarding acquisition strategies, schedules, contracting, budgeting and execution.
Prepare periodic status reports, coordinate and execute periodic staff meetings and technical interchange meetings, and develop acquisition plans, schedules, and executive program briefings.
Develop, draft, and coordinate overarching program planning and execution documents as prescribed by/tailored from DoDI 5000.02 / Acquisition Framework, and relevant DoD, AF, and local unit policies that pertain to rapid prototyping.
Provide technical and programmatic assessments of contractor design/milestone reviews to assess progress, risks and issues, and the ability to achieve mission requirements.
Provide program element coordination, staffing and monitoring; advise and assist government customer regarding funding commitments, obligations, and expenditures as well as drafting and supporting delivery of program funding documentation and monthly financial reports.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelors degree and fifteen (15) years or more of related experience.
Demonstrated experience in Command and Control (C2) operations, planning, or optimization.
Proven ability to operate effectively in senior-level environments (O-6 and above).
Strong understanding of Air Force / Space Force organizational structures, especially the Air Reserve Component.
Experience supporting weapons school, orbital warfare, tactics development, or operational planning forums.
Excellent communication and briefing skills, with the ability to translate complex topics into clear recommendations.
Active TS clearance with in-scope T5/SSBI is required, along with SCI eligibility and participation in Continuous Evaluation.
Must meet all requirements for SCI and SAP access and be willing to undergo a polygraph examination.
Travel is 10%.
Preferred Qualifications:
Background in multi-domain operations (MDO) or joint all-domain command and control (JADC2).
Prior involvement in WEPTAC, tactics conferences, or doctrine development.
Familiarity with Space Force missions, systems, or operational environments.
Experience supporting high-visibility, strategic-level initiatives.
