Position Overview:
ShyftLabs is looking for a People Operations Coordinator to join our growing company! Reporting to the Director of Operations, the successful candidate will be responsible for several day-to-day logistics and coordinations, spanning onboarding and offboarding, laptop and software account configuration, HR administration, interview scheduling, and improving people management components.
This role is meant for a multitasker and a problem-solver. Someone who can keep not only themselves organized, but others as well. Someone who can think on their feet, provide support to various leaders, and helps foster a fabulous employee experience.

Job Responsibilities:
HR Operations & Employee Lifecycle
Lead and manage all HR initiatives across the organization, including onboarding, offboarding, employee relations, documentation, and HR processes.
Develop and maintain scalable HR policies, procedures, and internal systems to support global growth.
Oversee employee records, HRIS management, and organizational reporting.
Manage employee benefit packages and employee filings both in Canada and the US.
Ensure smooth onboarding experiences for new hires across multiple countries and time zones.
Manage offboarding processes, exit interviews, and knowledge transfer procedures.
Recruitment & Talent Acquisition
Partner with leadership to develop hiring strategies are aligned with business objectives.
Oversee full-cycle recruitment across technical and non-technical roles.
Collaborate with hiring managers on workforce planning, interview processes, and candidate evaluation.
Improve employer branding and candidate experience initiatives.
Work with external recruiters and international hiring partners as needed.
Compliance & Employment Practices
Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations across Canada, the U.S., India, and other jurisdictions where the company operates.
Manage employment agreements, contractor agreements, workplace policies, and employee handbooks.
Coordinate with legal, finance, and external advisors on HR-related matters.
Support payroll coordination, benefits administration, and global employment compliance processes.
Performance Management & Employee Development
Design and manage performance review cycles, feedback frameworks, and goal-setting processes.
Support managers with coaching, employee development, conflict resolution, and performance improvement plans.
Help build learning and development initiatives that support career growth and retention.
Foster a high-performance, inclusive, and collaborative company culture.
Strategic People Leadership
Partner with executive leadership on organizational design, workforce planning, and people strategy.
Use HR metrics and employee insights to improve engagement, retention, and operational effectiveness.
Identify opportunities to improve employee experience and strengthen internal communication.
Support company scaling initiatives, process automation, and organizational change management.
Basic Qualifications:
5+ years of hands-on HR experience, preferably within high-growth technology companies.
Proven ability to work with business teams in a fast-paced, adaptable,
Experience managing HR operations for distributed or global teams.
Strong understanding of employment legislation and HR best practices across multiple jurisdictions.
Proven experience in recruitment, employee relations, performance management, and HR compliance.
Experience implementing or managing HR systems and people processes at scale.
Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
Highly organized with strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution.
We are proud to offer a salary within the range of $50,000 to $65,000 CAD alongside a strong healthcare insurance and benefits package.
