We're looking for an AI Engineer Intern to work in our Research & Development team. You will contribute to the core AI systems that power our dental automation platform: Support the development and improvement of AI models and pipelines used by thousands of dental professionals globally
Contribute to real product tickets: bug fixes, feature work, or pipeline improvements that go into production
Potentially own a scoped AI or engineering project end-to-end — from problem framing to a working prototype or shipped improvement
Explore and evaluate new approaches (models, tools, techniques) relevant to our core AI stack
Assist in data collection, preprocessing, and labeling to support model training and evaluation
Analyze model performance and contribute to iterative improvements in accuracy and reliability
Your profile
What you should bring to the team: Currently pursuing a Master's degree in Computer Science, AI, Machine Learning, or related field
Solid understanding of machine learning fundamentals and deep learning concepts
Proficiency in Python and common AI/ML libraries (e.g. PyTorch, TensorFlow, NumPy, scikit-learn)
Strong academic track record with relevant coursework in ML/AI
Available for a minimum 6-week internship
The 'Nice-to-haves': Familiarity with MLOps tools and practices
Previous internship or research experience in AI/ML
Knowledge of dental or healthcare domain
How you work: Eager to learn and comfortable asking questions in a fast-paced environment
Self-motivated with ability to work independently on assigned tasks
Strong communication skills to collaborate with researchers and engineers
Analytical mindset with attention to detail in experiments and documentation
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

Practical Requirements / Eligibility: Fluent in English (written and spoken)
Valid work authorization in Belgium
Able to work from our Leuven office at least 3 days per week
