Café Assistant / Barista Harrogate | £12.71 per hour | Monday to Friday We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established independent café in Harrogate, seeking a reliable and customer-focused individual to join their friendly team. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a busy hospitality environment that prides itself on excellent customer service and creating a welcoming atmosphere for both regular and new customers. There is genuine potential for additional responsibilities and future progression for the right candidate. The Role Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 3:00pm Initially covering school holiday periods Additional hours may be available by mutual agreement £12.71 per hour Opportunity to progress into supervisory or management responsibilities Key Responsibilities Preparing and serving high-quality hot and cold beverages Delivering excellent front-of-house customer service Operating the till and processing payments Providing table service when required Assisting with basic food preparation Maintaining a clean, organised, and welcoming environment Supporting café events and activities Assisting with day-to-day operational management as the role develops About You Friendly, approachable, and customer-focused Enjoys working in a fast-paced environment Passionate about food, coffee, and hospitality Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Able to build positive relationships with customers and colleagues Flexible and adaptable to business needs Previous barista experience is highly desirable Previous café, catering, hospitality, or customer service experience would be advantageous Food Hygiene certification would be beneficial but is not essential What's on Offer?
