Join our finance team as an Assistant Accountant, where you will support core finance operations including financial reporting, project cost tracking, and month-end close activities. This role collaborates closely with the Finance Manager and Global Finance team to ensure accurate reporting, compliance with accounting standards, and effective cost control across projects.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Maintain general ledger accounts and ensure accuracy of financial records and reporting.
- Support month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries and reconciliations.
- Prepare and process accounts receivable activities, including invoicing and credit notes.
- Perform account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies as needed.
- Monitor and track project costs against approved budgets.
- Conduct weekly and monthly analysis of project expenses and margins.
- Support financial reporting requirements and respond to internal and external information requests.
- Assist with audit preparation and ensure compliance with GAAP and internal policies.
- Review financial data to ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.
- Provide administrative and operational support to the Finance team as required.
- Assist with management reporting and ad hoc financial analysis.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Finance Manager or Global Finance leadership.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Part-qualified ACCA or CIMA (or actively pursuing certification).
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred.
- 1–3 years of relevant accounting or finance experience preferred.
- Experience supporting project accounting or cost tracking is an advantage.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial processes.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Organized and process-driven with strong follow-through.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
