Payroll & Finance Director (Multi-State Operations) Job Title : Payroll & Finance Director (Multi-State Operations) Location : In-Person Schedule : Monday–Thursday: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM | Friday: 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM Compensation : $70,000 – $120,000 (based on leadership capacity and experience) Overview: As America’s Most Trusted Source for ABA Services , we are seeking a highly capable and driven Payroll & Finance Director to take ownership of our multi-state payroll and financial operations. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who can execute at a high level today while building the systems, structure, and team needed for continued growth. You will play a critical role in ensuring accuracy, compliance, and scalability across all payroll and related financial functions. Core Responsibilities Payroll & Compliance: Own and oversee end-to-end payroll across multiple states and entities Ensure full compliance with federal, state, and local regulations Manage payroll schedules, submissions, and approvals with zero tolerance for errors Proactively handle audits, discrepancies, and compliance-related issues Financial Oversight Track payroll expenses across departments, locations, and service lines Partner with leadership on budgeting and financial planning Develop clear, accurate, and actionable financial reports Systems & Scaling: Design and implement scalable payroll workflows and approval structures Integrate payroll with time tracking, HR, and billing systems Identify inefficiencies and lead automation and process improvements Leadership & Team Oversight: Hire, train, and manage payroll and finance team members Build a structured, accountable department with clear roles and expectations Create and enforce SOPs, workflows, and quality control systems Serve as the escalation point for complex payroll and compliance matters Collaborate cross-functionally with HR, operations, and executive leadership Ensure strict adherence to deadlines, policies, and compliance standards Develop team members through ongoing training, mentorship, and feedback Foster a high-performance culture centered on accuracy, ownership, and accountability Requirements: 5+ years of multi-state payroll experience ( required ) Proven experience building or leading a team Strong knowledge of payroll compliance, taxes, and labor laws across multiple states Experience with payroll systems such as Viventium, ADP, Paychex, or similar Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution Excellent communication and cross-department coordination skills High level of organization, ownership, and attention to detail What Sets This Role Apart?
