The Financial Controlling team at Monks is responsible for financial control of the APAC entities and of the monthly reporting for the DDM and Content practice divisional results. The team operates in an international environment, collaborates closely, and interacts with various departments, including local finance teams, S4 group team, FP&A, MDs, tax, legal, HR, etc. The Financial Controller will have financial controlling responsibilities for various entities in India. Additionally, as part of the monthly consolidation the individual will work with local finance teams across the world, including US, LATAM, APAC, and EMEA. The role focuses on financial reporting, alignment, process improvements, and integration due to the company's acquisitions.
This role will report into the APAC Financial Controller based in Singapore.
Key responsibilities include:
Preparation of timely and quality financial reporting for entities that fall under direct responsibility.
Leading the monthly consolidation process and intercompany reconciliations, reporting to the S4 group team
Ensuring all financial data adheres to accounting standards (such as GAAP or IFRS), statutory requirements, and local tax laws. Includes preparing accounting position papers and compliance with revenue recognition requirements
Serving as the principal point of contact for external auditors and internal audit teams
Assisting management in preparing operating budgets and monitoring them to spot deficiencies or spending trends.
Accountable for the balance sheet for the legal entities that fall under your direct responsibility including review and completion of monthly reconciliations
Designing and monitoring internal controls to prevent fraud, eliminate errors, and secure company assets.
Tracking cash flows, managing vendor payments, and identifying financial liabilities in advance
Directing the day-to-day operations of the accounting team, which often includes accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and procurement leads
Streamlining accounting workflows and adopting modern financial software to improve operational efficiency
Main point of contact for the business that fall under your direct responsibility - liaising with various stakeholders, including local finance teams, Group and regional team, FP&A, MDs, tax, legal, HR, etc
Assisting with monthly board reporting to the management board.
Playing a role in implementing new finance systems and driving process improvement and transformation projects
Contributing to process documentation and improvement, as well as building a future-proof finance and reporting structure.
Requirements
Bachelor or Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accountancy or equivalent
Accountancy qualification - ACA or ACCA
10+ years of experience, preferably in a high growth, international company
Experience within a transformation and fast paced environment
Excellent communication skills, both with financial and non-financial professionals
Ability to work in a dynamic environment and handle stressful situations with a positive attitude
Strong analytical skills
Proficiency in IFRS.
Fluency in spoken and written English.
