Accountabilities: The Virtual Language Arts Instructor is responsible for delivering engaging, high-quality online instruction that helps students strengthen their reading, writing, and critical thinking abilities. The role focuses on creating an interactive virtual classroom experience where students are encouraged to participate, explore ideas, and develop confidence in their communication skills. Teach live online language arts classes for elementary and middle school students in a virtual classroom environment. Deliver curriculum-based lessons focused on skill development, participation, discussion, and critical thinking rather than memorization. Create an engaging learning atmosphere that motivates advanced students and encourages independent thinking. Facilitate student discussions and allow learners to actively contribute to the learning process. Provide thoughtful, detailed feedback on student writing assignments to support improvement and growth. Manage small online classes with motivated learners while maintaining a positive and productive classroom environment. Adapt teaching approaches to support different learning styles and encourage student success. Requirements: The ideal candidate is an enthusiastic educator with strong language arts expertise and experience teaching or tutoring students in a virtual or classroom setting. This role requires excellent communication skills, a passion for working with advanced learners, and the ability to create meaningful educational experiences online. Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in a humanities discipline related to language arts; a master’s degree or higher is preferred. Strong academic background in English, reading, writing, and grammar. Experience teaching or tutoring K–12 students, with classroom teaching experience preferred. Experience working with high-achieving or advanced students is a plus. Comfortable using Zoom or similar video conferencing platforms and managing an online classroom. Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to provide constructive feedback. Ability to foster student engagement, curiosity, and critical thinking in a virtual learning environment. Must currently reside in and be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
