Accountabilities:
Lead upstream marketing activities focused on identifying unmet needs, whitespace opportunities, and emerging trends through market research, competitive analysis, and technology scouting.
Design and execute Voice of Customer (VoC) programs including KOL engagement, advisory boards, site visits, and usability research to generate deep customer insights.
Translate customer and market insights into clear product definitions, including target product profiles, use cases, and value propositions aligned with clinical and economic outcomes.
Partner with cross-functional teams (R&D, clinical, regulatory, quality, and commercial) to ensure alignment on product strategy, design inputs, and stage-gate processes.
Support governance, prioritization, and roadmap decisions by connecting upstream insights to portfolio and innovation strategy.
Contribute to early validation and concept development activities that shape product direction and pipeline growth.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Engineering, Life Sciences, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
5+ years of experience in product management, upstream marketing, or strategy roles, ideally within medical devices, healthcare technologies, or regulated industries.
Proven experience in new product development, from concept generation through early-stage validation.
Strong expertise in Voice of Customer (VoC), market research, and translating insights into product requirements and business cases.
Experience working in regulated environments (FDA, CE, or similar) and familiarity with design controls and stage-gate processes.
Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills with the ability to interpret complex market and clinical data.
Excellent cross-functional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
Experience working in global or multi-market product environments is highly desirable.
