Accountabilities: The Senior Database Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining database-driven applications while contributing to technical excellence across engineering teams. The role requires strong collaboration, problem-solving skills, and ownership of software quality, performance, and scalability.

Participate in the full software development lifecycle, from product vision and architecture design through implementation and deployment.

Design, develop, enhance, and maintain Oracle database applications and reusable software components.

Create innovative technical solutions to address complex business challenges and improve product capabilities.

Collaborate with globally distributed software engineers, DevOps teams, project managers, and business stakeholders.

Evaluate new technologies, tools, and architectural approaches to support future product roadmap requirements.

Partner with infrastructure teams to align application architecture with operational and scalability needs.

Optimize database performance, troubleshoot production issues, and improve system reliability and stability.

Support continuous integration and delivery processes, including CI/CD pipeline improvements and automation.

Identify opportunities to enhance scalability, security, performance, and serviceability across applications.

Contribute to Agile development practices, technical discussions, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate brings extensive experience in enterprise database engineering, strong Oracle expertise, and the ability to collaborate effectively across technical teams. A background in healthcare data environments and modern software development practices is highly valued.

10+ years of experience designing and developing enterprise software solutions using Oracle databases.

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field.

5+ years of experience working with healthcare data and healthcare domain concepts.

Advanced knowledge of Oracle database development, including performance tuning and optimization.

Hands-on experience with advanced Oracle capabilities such as BULK COLLECTION.

Strong understanding of database architecture, development standards, and enterprise application design.

Experience with software development tools such as JIRA and GIT.

Familiarity with CI/CD technologies and tools such as Jenkins, Hudson, Bamboo, or Cruise Control.

Understanding of Agile Scrum methodologies and software development lifecycle practices.

Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.

Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with distributed teams.

Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment.

Experience with functional programming concepts is a plus.
