Accountabilities: The Senior Brokerage Representative is responsible for auditing customs brokerage files, ensuring compliance with Canadian import and export requirements, and supporting accurate classification and documentation processes. This role requires strong attention to detail, regulatory knowledge, and the ability to communicate compliance requirements effectively. Audit daily customs brokerage files according to applicable Canadian customs requirements and procedures. Review selected customer accounts and randomly assigned files to ensure regulatory compliance and accuracy. Verify permits, licenses, certificates, and import documentation for completeness and compliance. Validate tariff classifications using classification guidelines, reference materials, and regulatory documentation. Perform country-of-origin verification activities with suppliers and supporting documentation. Maintain and update classification databases using tools such as Excel and Access. Enter and manage classification information within internal systems. Identify compliance issues, investigate discrepancies, and recommend appropriate corrective actions. Communicate customs requirements and compliance expectations clearly to customers and internal stakeholders. Support continuous improvement of brokerage audit processes and documentation practices. Requirements: The ideal candidate has extensive customs brokerage experience, strong knowledge of Canadian and U.S. customs regulations, and excellent analytical skills. Success in this role requires attention to detail, effective communication, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a remote environment. Minimum of 5 years of experience in customs brokerage or a related international trade environment. Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) certification required. Strong knowledge of Canadian Border Services Agency (CBSA) requirements and U.S. customs regulations. Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and experience managing classification data. Strong understanding of tariff classification, import documentation, and trade compliance processes. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and time management skills. Strong written and verbal communication abilities. Bilingual proficiency in French and English is required, including strong written and spoken French communication skills. Ability to regularly communicate with customers and stakeholders across Canada. Experience in international trade, logistics, classification, or Free Trade Agreement (FTA) processes is considered an asset. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience is preferred. Benefits: Competitive hourly compensation: Quebec: approximately CAD $20.48 per hour. Ontario: approximately CAD $21.42 per hour. Full-time permanent remote position available across Canada.
