Accountabilities:
As a QA & Release Engineer, you will be responsible for validating software quality, managing release processes, and supporting the continuous improvement of engineering workflows. You will work closely with development and support teams to ensure reliable product performance and smooth delivery cycles.
Design and execute black-box testing strategies for complex software scenarios, ensuring product functionality across multiple configurations.
Validate product documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and alignment with actual software behavior.
Investigate customer-reported issues by reproducing problems, creating test environments, and identifying potential root causes.
Develop representative test cases to support debugging efforts and contribute improvements to product quality.
Coordinate maintenance releases across multiple software versions, ensuring builds and packages are validated and delivered on schedule.
Monitor and maintain automated build systems, troubleshooting failures across different platforms and environments.
Manage software packaging processes, including DEB and RPM packages for various Linux distributions.
Improve build pipelines by contributing enhancements to automation frameworks and infrastructure tools.
Collaborate with engineering, support, and technical teams to resolve issues and strengthen product reliability.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate has strong experience in quality assurance, software testing, and release engineering, with technical knowledge across programming, databases, Linux systems, and automation environments.
Strong working knowledge of C++ for test development and understanding of software codebases.
Proficiency in Python for build automation, scripting, and infrastructure improvements.
Solid SQL knowledge and experience working with relational database management systems.
Experience with Linux environments, including DEB/RPM packaging and repository management.
Practical experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar platforms.
Experience performing black-box testing and troubleshooting complex software interactions.
Familiarity with virtualization technologies and cloud platforms for software testing and development.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to reproduce defects and diagnose technical failures.
Detail-oriented mindset with a disciplined approach to quality validation and documentation review.
Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with distributed engineering and support teams.
Experience with database architecture, storage systems, or related technologies is a plus.
Familiarity with BuildBot or similar build automation tools is preferred.
