Accountabilities: The Principal / Sr. Principal Electronics Communication Engineer will lead engineering efforts focused on advanced satellite communication systems, supporting the full product lifecycle from concept development through integration and verification. This role requires strong systems engineering expertise, technical leadership, and the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders. Conduct systems engineering analyses to support requirements trades, design decisions, integration activities, and end-to-end system performance evaluations. Develop, decompose, review, and manage system requirements throughout the product lifecycle. Lead architecture assessments, capability evaluations, and complex trade studies to support informed technical decisions. Identify, analyze, and communicate system risks, uncertainties, opportunities, and mitigation strategies. Translate technical analysis into actionable recommendations for government stakeholders and program leadership. Manage requirements, interfaces, and architecture change processes. Support planning, execution, and reporting of capability trade analyses and technical studies. Lead multidisciplinary working groups and coordinate collaboration across engineering teams and external partners. Contribute to integration, verification, and validation strategies for advanced communication systems. Provide technical guidance and mentorship while supporting team objectives and program success. Requirements: The ideal candidate is a highly experienced communications or systems engineer with expertise in military satellite communications, complex aerospace systems, and engineering lifecycle processes. They should demonstrate strong analytical skills, leadership capabilities, and the ability to operate effectively in a mission-focused environment. Principal level: Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline with 5+ years of related professional or military engineering experience; or a Master’s degree with 3+ years of experience; or a PhD with 1+ year of experience. Sr. Principal level: Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline with 8+ years of related professional or military engineering experience; or a Master’s degree with 6+ years of experience; or a PhD with 4+ years of experience. Active, current Department of Defense Secret Security Clearance or higher, granted or renewed within the past 6 years. Ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access clearance. Experience planning, executing, and presenting complex engineering trade studies. Full lifecycle systems engineering experience, including concept development, requirements definition, design, integration, and verification. Experience with Military Satellite Communications (SATCOM), particularly Advanced Extremely High Frequency (AEHF) systems, is highly preferred. Knowledge of capabilities trade analysis, mission analysis, information assurance, and systems integration. Experience supporting satellite communication system testing and evaluation. Familiarity with NSA certification processes, MIL-STD-810, and/or DO-160 standards is preferred. Strong customer focus, communication skills, collaboration abilities, and demonstrated technical leadership experience. Ability to work onsite and support occasional travel requirements. Benefits: Competitive salary ranges: Principal level: $98,400 - $147,600 annually. Sr. Principal level: $122,800 - $184,200 annually.
