Accountabilities: The Principal Engineer will be responsible for leading architecture initiatives, driving containerization strategies, and delivering secure, scalable enterprise solutions. The role requires strong technical ownership, collaboration with stakeholders, and the ability to guide engineering teams through modernization programs.

Lead the architecture, design, and modernization of enterprise applications and integration platforms using cloud-native technologies.

Design and implement scalable solutions leveraging Spring Boot, Spring Batch, Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift.

Drive migration initiatives from legacy middleware and enterprise content management systems toward modern open-source and cloud-ready platforms.

Define enterprise integration architectures, messaging solutions, and network-layer designs using technologies such as Apache Camel, JMS, and ActiveMQ.

Architect and implement secure container platforms using OpenShift capabilities including Service Mesh, Pipelines, GitOps, and Operators.

Establish and promote DevSecOps practices through CI/CD automation, security integration, and improved software delivery processes.

Design observability and monitoring solutions using tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, and Dynatrace to improve reliability and operational visibility.

Create comprehensive High-Level Design (HLD) and Low-Level Design (LLD) documentation while making key architecture decisions.

Ensure container platforms meet enterprise security, compliance, and regulatory requirements.

Evaluate and implement API management solutions, including platforms such as Apigee, Kong, or WSO2.

Collaborate with technical teams, business stakeholders, and leadership to deliver secure, high-performing solutions.

Mentor engineers, share architectural best practices, and stay current with emerging technologies in cloud-native development and platform engineering.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate brings extensive experience in enterprise architecture, container platforms, and modern software engineering practices. Strong technical expertise combined with leadership skills and the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly are essential for success in this role.

9+ years of professional experience in software engineering, solution architecture, and enterprise technology delivery.

Strong hands-on experience designing and implementing microservices architectures using Spring Boot and Spring Batch.

Deep expertise in Red Hat OpenShift, including cluster architecture, administration, Service Mesh, Pipelines, GitOps, and deployment strategies.

Proven experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration platforms including Kubernetes and OpenShift.

Hands-on experience with Apache Camel, JMS, and enterprise messaging platforms such as ActiveMQ.

Experience modernizing and migrating legacy enterprise systems to cloud-native and open-source technologies.

Strong understanding of enterprise integration architecture, network design, and integration patterns.

Experience with service mesh technologies such as Istio.

Practical knowledge of DevSecOps methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, and security automation.

Experience with observability platforms including Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, and Dynatrace.

Familiarity with S3-compatible storage solutions and large-scale data migration activities.

Ability to create architecture documentation, including HLD and LLD deliverables.

Experience designing secure on-premises container environments and enterprise security architectures.

Knowledge of Kubernetes, OpenShift, cloud architecture, or DevSecOps certifications is a plus.

Experience working with API gateway technologies such as Apigee, Kong, or WSO2 is advantageous.

Background working in regulated industries with strict security and compliance requirements is preferred.

Strong leadership, stakeholder management, analytical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
