Accountabilities: The Medical Writer is responsible for developing scientifically accurate and engaging medical communications materials while ensuring alignment with client objectives, quality standards, and industry guidelines. This role combines scientific writing, project coordination, research, and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

Develop high-quality medical communications materials, including abstracts, scientific posters, manuscripts, slide decks, presentations, and other healthcare-related deliverables.

Ensure all written content meets standards for scientific accuracy, clarity, grammar, formatting, and client expectations.

Research and interpret scientific literature, clinical data, therapeutic areas, competitors, and emerging healthcare trends.

Collaborate with scientific teams, client services teams, healthcare professionals, and external experts to deliver successful projects.

Incorporate internal and external review feedback while maintaining scientific integrity, consistency, and compliance requirements.

Manage assigned projects independently, ensuring deadlines, deliverables, and quality expectations are achieved.

Communicate proactively with stakeholders regarding project updates, timelines, requirements, and potential risks.

Monitor project budgets by tracking time spent, maintaining accurate timesheets, and identifying potential impacts on delivery plans.

Support smooth project execution by ensuring relevant information is shared across editorial and client-facing teams.

Maintain knowledge of pharmaceutical industry standards, self-regulation guidelines, client procedures, and best practices in medical communications.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate is a scientifically trained professional with strong writing capabilities and a passion for translating complex medical information into accessible and meaningful content. They should be detail-oriented, collaborative, and comfortable managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Degree in life sciences, ideally complemented by a master’s degree or PhD in a scientific discipline.

Experience or strong interest in medical writing, scientific communications, healthcare communications, or related fields.

Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate complex scientific concepts clearly.

Good understanding of the pharmaceutical industry, clinical research processes, and healthcare communications.

Excellent attention to detail with a strong commitment to scientific accuracy and editorial quality.

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and projects simultaneously.

Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary teams.

Curiosity and willingness to learn new therapeutic areas, disease states, and scientific topics.

Proactive approach to sharing project updates, ideas, feedback, and recommendations with stakeholders.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, Outlook, and Adobe.
