Accountabilities: The Head of Data will lead the strategy, execution, and evolution of the data function, ensuring that data platforms, analytics capabilities, and business intelligence systems support sustainable growth and operational excellence.

Own the complete data stack, including data ingestion, cloud warehouse architecture, transformation frameworks, analytics platforms, integrations, data quality, monitoring, and access management.

Define and execute the long-term data platform strategy, making architectural decisions that support scalability, reliability, and business needs.

Lead and develop the data team, including coaching existing team members, hiring future talent, and establishing a high-performing engineering culture.

Establish strong data governance practices, ensuring core business metrics have clear definitions, ownership, documentation, and reliable implementation.

Build and maintain scalable dbt models, analytics workflows, and reporting foundations that enable accurate self-service analysis.

Improve data reliability through monitoring, quality controls, incident processes, performance optimization, and cost management.

Partner with engineering teams to establish strong data contracts, improve product instrumentation, and ensure seamless data flows into analytical systems.

Work with business leaders across growth, product, operations, finance, and customer teams to define meaningful KPIs and improve decision-making.

Develop experimentation frameworks and analytical approaches that support informed product and business decisions.

Establish data foundations that support compliance, reporting, and evidence requirements for high-impact technology and healthcare initiatives.

Manage relationships with key data technology vendors and optimize tools, processes, and investments as the organization scales.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate is a hands-on data leader with strong technical depth, excellent judgment, and experience building scalable data organizations in fast-moving environments.

5+ years of hands-on experience working in data roles, combined with 3+ years of experience leading and managing data teams.

Deep expertise in SQL and dbt, with the ability to review complex models, identify data issues, and establish strong modeling standards.

Experience designing and operating modern data platforms, including ingestion pipelines, cloud data warehouses, transformation layers, analytics, and monitoring systems.

Strong understanding of data engineering concepts such as orchestration, incremental processing, dependencies, backfills, reliability, and data quality controls.

Proven ability to design clean, scalable data models with strong documentation, ownership, testing, and governance practices.

Experience translating business goals into meaningful metrics across areas such as growth, retention, revenue, customer behavior, and operational performance.

Ability to lead teams strategically while remaining technically engaged and capable of reviewing architecture, code, and analytical workflows.

Strong stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to challenge unclear metrics and guide teams toward better decision frameworks.

Experience implementing data reliability practices, including monitoring, alerting, ownership models, and incident response processes.

Strong communication skills and the ability to influence senior leaders across technical and business functions.

Experience with modern cloud data platforms such as Redshift or similar technologies is preferred.

Experience with analytics collaboration tools such as Hex or comparable platforms is a plus.

Background supporting consumer products, subscription businesses, healthcare technology, regulated environments, or high-growth companies is advantageous.
