Accountabilities: The Financial Analyst, R&D Finance will support financial planning, reporting, and analysis activities for research and development teams, helping leaders make informed decisions regarding investments and resource allocation.

Analyze R&D financial data and prepare recurring reports highlighting trends, variances, risks, and opportunities.

Support budgeting and forecasting activities for R&D cost centers in collaboration with engineering and product leadership.

Monitor financial performance against budgets and provide insights to improve spending efficiency.

Maintain and update financial models, databases, and reporting tools related to R&D expenses and headcount.

Track key financial performance indicators, including spending trends, workforce costs, and capitalized development expenses.

Prepare financial analyses to support strategic initiatives, investment decisions, and resource planning.

Evaluate the financial feasibility of new R&D projects and provide modeling support for business decisions.

Partner with finance and technical stakeholders to improve reporting accuracy and business visibility.

Deliver ad hoc financial analyses and reports requested by leadership and cross-functional teams.

Identify opportunities to improve processes, reporting methods, and financial decision-making.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate combines strong financial analysis skills, business acumen, and the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and finance teams.

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline.

2+ years of experience in financial analysis or a related finance role.

Experience supporting research and development, engineering, technology, or product organizations is an asset.

Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modeling techniques.

Ability to analyze complex financial information and translate findings into clear recommendations.

Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate with both finance professionals and technical stakeholders.

Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a collaborative team setting.

Experience with financial reporting, forecasting, and performance tracking is preferred.
