Business Development & Account Director - iGaming Payments
Accountabilities As the Business Development & Account Director, you will own the end-to-end commercial journey by identifying new opportunities, developing strategic partnerships, and managing high-value merchant relationships. You will combine sales leadership with account growth responsibilities to expand market presence, increase processing volumes, and deliver sustainable business outcomes.
Identify, engage, and onboard new iGaming operators across relevant markets and regions.
Build and manage a portfolio of merchants from initial prospecting through long-term account development.
Develop strong relationships with merchant decision-makers and senior stakeholders.
Drive growth in settled processing volumes and maximize the commercial value of existing accounts.
Evaluate business opportunities based on product fit, commercial potential, and strategic alignment.
Negotiate commercial agreements and establish long-term partnerships with key operators.
Identify opportunities to expand merchants into additional geographic markets, payment methods, and acquiring solutions.
Collaborate with onboarding, integration, routing, and operational teams to ensure smooth merchant launches.
Maintain regular communication with merchants to improve retention and uncover additional growth opportunities.
Represent the business at iGaming conferences, industry events, and networking activities when required.
Requirements
The ideal candidate is an experienced commercial professional with a strong background in iGaming payments and a proven ability to build partnerships, win new business, and grow payment processing volumes. You should have strong industry knowledge, excellent relationship-building skills, and the ability to operate effectively in an international B2B environment.
Proven commercial experience within the iGaming payments industry.
Previous experience working with a PSP, payment gateway, acquiring provider, or iGaming operator.
Established network and relationships with iGaming operators and industry stakeholders.
Strong understanding of card acquiring, payment processing, routing, and alternative payment methods.
Demonstrated success in business development, merchant acquisition, and revenue growth.
Experience negotiating commercial agreements and managing strategic or key accounts.
Ability to evaluate merchant opportunities and identify long-term commercial potential.
Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
Results-oriented mindset with the ability to balance new business development and account growth.
Ability to work independently, prioritize opportunities, and manage the full sales lifecycle.
Strong integrity, reliability, and professional judgment when managing commercial relationships.
