Accountabilities:
The Auction Representative will manage auction operations, vehicle inventory, and vendor performance while ensuring efficient and compliant remarketing activities. This role requires strong automotive knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to make informed decisions that improve vehicle sales performance and maximize returns.
Travel regularly to auction locations to oversee vehicle sales activities and represent business interests with auction partners.
Manage auction vendor relationships, monitor performance, and implement corrective actions when service standards are not met.
Evaluate vehicle condition, valuation, reconditioning needs, and sale readiness to support effective remarketing decisions.
Oversee inventory management processes, including transportation status, inspections, vehicle grading, estimates, and bid approvals.
Negotiate vehicle sales directly with dealers and manage consignment relationships.
Conduct onsite reviews of auction processes, inventory preparation, and sales effectiveness.
Organize performance meetings with auction partners and coordinate follow-up actions based on reporting and scorecards.
Review auction expenses, vehicle announcements, and operational data to identify improvement opportunities.
Support arbitration negotiations and collaborate with leadership on complex vehicle-related decisions.
Identify market opportunities and apply industry knowledge to maximize vehicle value and retention.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate is an experienced automotive remarketing professional with strong knowledge of wholesale vehicle sales, valuation processes, and auction operations. They should be highly organized, adaptable, and capable of managing independent responsibilities while building strong relationships with vendors and dealers.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in automotive remarketing or a related industry.
Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent professional experience.
Experience with vehicle valuation, reconditioning assessments, and wholesale automotive channels.
Strong understanding of automotive market trends, used vehicle pricing dynamics, and seasonal market changes.
Familiarity with auction operations and NAAA auction policies preferred.
Experience with frame assessments or vehicle condition report writing is a plus.
Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills.
Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Strong computer skills and ability to navigate multiple systems and web-based applications.
Experience with automotive systems such as Auto IMS, Manheim Market Report, and Simulcast or Velocicast auction platforms is preferred.
Willingness and ability to travel regularly, with access to reliable transportation and convenient airport access.
