The Retail & Spa Lead is the on-site presence for the Malibu location, supporting day-to-day retail and spa operations. This person supports scheduling and daily operations for the on-site team that includes licensed aestheticians, helps drive sales and booking performance, and supports the guest experience — ensuring every visit reflects top-tier Oak Essentials brand representation. This is a hands-on role.

Key Responsibilities

Retail Operations

Open/close the location, oversee daily sales floor operations

Own visual merchandising standards and product presentation

Support inventory tracking, restock requests, and receiving

Ensure POS and inventory accuracy

Spa Operations

Oversee the spa scheduling and booking system, coordinate reservations and calendar management, treatment room turnover, and seamless appointment flow.

Set service standards and coordinate day-to-day with licensed aestheticians

Serve as the main on-site point of contact for laundry and cleaning service providers

Ensure treatment rooms, retail floor, and guest areas meet cleanliness and presentation standards

Handle guest intake, scheduling conflicts, and service-related issues on-site

Staffing & Team Leadership

Upload aesthetician availability into the scheduling platform

Partner with direct manager to onboard and train new hires on brand standards, product knowledge, and service expectations

Guest Experience & VIP Engagement

Deliver and model the Oak Essentials brand experience for every guest

Serve as the on-site point of contact for high-profile guests, ensuring a seamless, elevated experience across all guests

Handle escalated guest issues and gather feedback to flag trends to leadership

Event Coordination & Cross-Functional Partnership

Partner with direct manager to plan and execute on-location events, activations, and launches

Partner with the social media team to support content capture and on-site moments

Partner with OE marketing to align on promotions, launches, and brand initiatives happening at the location

Partner with direct manager to report sales, inventory, and spa performance metrics

Flag facilities, supply, or vendor issues as they arise

Requirements

Confidence with POS systems and inventory management

Guest-first mindset with experience handling VIP or high-touch clientele a plus

Ability to work 5 days/week, 40 hours, including some holidays/peak periods as needed

Availability to work weekends

Physical ability to be on your feet, lift stock, etc.

Experience with spa booking software (Boulevard, Mangomint, or similar)

Background in clean beauty/skincare, spa, or luxury hospitality

Experience coordinating with social/marketing teams on in-person events

Flexibility to stretch to other duties as assigned and be a team player
