The Managed Transportation & LTL Manager will leverage their knowledge and experience in the logistics field to oversee the production and development of the department. This role will manage daily operations and account production, ensure the delivery of exceptional customer service, review key performance metrics, and coach and develop each team member.
The Managed Transportation & LTL Manager is someone with a proven track record in leadership, a passion for delivering exceptional customer service, and the driver for peak operational performance. The person for this role will be ready to jump into an exciting opportunity to help grow the department.
Duties and Responsibilities Oversee the daily operations of the Managed Transportation and LTL Department
Manage team operations to support client relations, ensuring retention and optimal service of book of business
Provide management, mentorship, and coaching to a team of strategic Logistics Specialists
Plan or provide backup support as needed for accounts across the department
Act as the point of escalation for customer and carrier related issues
Maintain and monitor consistency of communication, account functions, and data integrity within daily operational processes
Act as a liaison between leadership, departments, and team members regarding performance, escalation, and strategic business direction
Leverage tools and technology to manage and grow account strategy
Prepare, update, and ensure accurate execution of information within standard operating procedures
Evaluate KPIs on a team and individual basis and address in monthly and quarterly meetings
Participate and help prepare materials for customer meetings and business reviews with top customers as requested
Utilize Transportation Management Systems (TMS) to track department operations
Experience and Qualifications Bachelor's degree required.
Minimum of two years of management experience.
Strong logistics and transportation background.
Experience using a Transportation Management System (TMS).
Proven leadership and team development skills.
Highly professional with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Performs well under pressure and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
