Company Description

Farther is a rapidly growing RIA that combines expert advisors with cutting-edge technology - delivering a comprehensive, tailored wealth management experience.

Farther’s founders are leaders and innovators from the private wealth industry who possess a unique blend of traditional wealth management, fintech, and technology production expertise. We’re backed by top-tier venture capital firms, fintech investors, and industry leaders.

Joining Farther means joining a collaborative team of entrepreneurs who are passionate about helping their clients and our teammates achieve more. If you’re the type who breaks through walls to get things done the right way, we want to build the future of wealth management with you.

The Role

Farther is a fast-growing RIA on a mission to make quality financial guidance accessible to everyone. We're a lean, scrappy team doing things differently — and our People team is no exception. We're looking for a Benefits Manager to own Farther's benefits function end-to-end. This is a brand-new role, which means you'll get to build it. If you're the kind of person who digs into the details, thrives in ambiguity, and loves making complex programs run smoothly, let's talk.

Your Impact

Own all benefits programs — health, dental, vision, 401(k), leave, and wellness — from administration to compliance

Serve as the primary point of contact for employees navigating benefits questions and open enrollment

Manage vendor relationships (Sequoia, MetLife, Anthem, Empower) and hold partners accountable to SLAs

Administer multi-state leave programs, ensuring compliance across all jurisdictions where we operate

Partner closely with Finance on audits, 5500 filings, and benefits-related reporting

Support new hire onboarding by educating team members on plan options and enrollment processes

Lead open enrollment each year — planning, communications, and execution

Drive wellness initiatives as we move toward a self-insured model

The Ideal Match

5+ years of benefits administration experience, ideally at a growing company

Hands-on experience with level-funded or self-insured health plans — this is a must

Multi-state leave administration experience (FMLA, state-specific leave laws, etc.) — also a must

Strong vendor management skills and comfort holding brokers and carriers accountable

Proficiency in Rippling or similar HRIS platforms

Highly organized with strong attention to detail — you catch what others miss

Bonus Points

Experience with Empower or another 401(k) administration platform

Familiarity with 5500 prep and filing
