Job Summary
You will assist with structural design and installation, perform repairs and installations of doors, windows, drywall, cabinets, and stairs, and ensure compliance with safety and building codes while maintaining high-quality workmanship and customer service.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints to support accurate construction and installation
- Assist supervisors with structural design, planning, layout, and installation to ensure project success
- Repair and install doors, windows, drywall, cabinets, stairs, and other fixtures to meet quality standards
- Assess the quality of woodwork and materials to ensure durability and compliance with specifications
- Operate hand and power tools, machines, and equipment safely and effectively for various carpentry tasks
- Follow local building codes and health and safety regulations to maintain a safe work environment
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating clearly and responding to client needs
- Measure and mark materials accurately for cutting and alterations to ensure precise fitting
- Cut, shape, and alter materials as needed to complete construction and repair tasks
- Build doors, cabinets, and windows according to project requirements and specifications
- Maintain tools and equipment in safe operating condition to ensure reliability and safety
- Perform physical tasks including standing for prolonged periods, climbing, pulling, and lifting heavy objects to complete job duties
Required competencies and certifications
- Completion of an apprenticeship in carpentry or equivalent experience in the field
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Good communication and organizational skills demonstrated through effective teamwork and task management
