Engineering & Technology Manager

Responsibilities:

Lead, mentor and manage a team of 5+ engineers, driving performance, accountability and growth.

Architect, design and deliver scalable backend systems using Java (Spring Boot or similar).

Oversee end-to-end product development across frontend, backend and mobile.

Provide technical leadership for Android and iOS application development.

Enforce engineering best practices - code quality, testing and security standards.

Collaborate with product, operations and compliance teams on mission-critical solutions.

Design systems for high availability, scalability and security in high-transaction environments.

Lead agile delivery - sprint planning, backlog grooming and release management.

Troubleshoot complex technical challenges across the stack.

Drive continuous improvement in engineering processes, tooling and performance.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.

8-15 years of software development experience, with 3-5+ years in a leadership role.

Strong expertise in Java and enterprise frameworks (Spring Boot).

Proven full-stack development experience (frontend + backend).

Hands-on experience building/overseeing mobile apps (Android & iOS).

Demonstrated experience managing and scaling engineering teams (5+ developers).

Strong understanding of API design/microservices, relational & NoSQL databases, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure or GCP), and CI/CD & DevOps practices.

Experience in fintech, banking or high-volume transaction systems is highly preferred.

Demonstrated experience using AI-powered development tools (GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Cursor, Claude Code, etc.) across the engineering lifecycle - requirements, architecture, coding, testing and documentation.

Familiarity with financial regulations and security best practices (PCI DSS) is a plus.

Ability to work across multiple time zones.
