Job Summary
Join a well-established Metal Works company as a Quantity Surveyor to prepare cost estimates, manage project budgets, and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure commercial success of construction projects.
Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed quotations, cost estimates, and tender submissions for Metal Works projects to support business growth
- Perform accurate quantity take-offs and measurements from construction drawings and specifications to inform cost planning
- Obtain, assess, and compare quotations from suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing and quality
- Monitor and control project costs and budgets to maintain financial targets and profitability
- Prepare progress claims, variation orders, and final accounts to facilitate timely project payments and contract closure
- Review project drawings, contracts, and scope of works to identify and evaluate cost implications and risks
- Liaise effectively with clients, consultants, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams on commercial and contractual matters to ensure alignment
- Maintain accurate records and provide comprehensive support on tendering and other quantity surveying activities to enhance project delivery
Required competencies and certifications
- Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying, Building, Construction Management, or a related discipline
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Experience in Metal Works, Steel Works, or Structural Steel projects
- Basic knowledge of quantity surveying procedures, cost estimation, and contract administration
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
