Dance Instructor (Ballet / Hip-Hop / K-Pop / Jazz) ? After-School & Weekend Programs
We are seeking an energetic, creative, and dedicated Dance Instructor to teach students aged 3?16 in one or more dance styles, including Ballet, Hip-Hop, K-Pop, and Jazz. The ideal candidate is passionate about dance education, enjoys working with children and teenagers, and can inspire students to build confidence, discipline, coordination, and performance skills in a positive and supportive environment.
This position is primarily for after-school weekday classes and weekend programs, with opportunities to participate in performances, showcases, workshops, and special events throughout the year.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and age-appropriate dance classes for students aged 3?16.
- Teach one or more dance styles, including Ballet, Hip-Hop, K-Pop, Jazz, and other related genres.
- Develop structured lesson plans that build technical skills, musicality, creativity, and stage confidence.
- Teach proper dance techniques, body alignment, flexibility, coordination, rhythm, and performance skills.
- Create choreography for performances, showcases, recitals, competitions, and school events.
- Adapt instruction to accommodate different ages, skill levels, and learning styles.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and motivating classroom environment.
- Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback to support individual growth.
- Maintain professional communication with parents regarding student development when needed.
- Assist with student evaluations, performances, showcases, and community events.
- Ensure student safety and follow all studio and school policies.
Schedule
- Weekday After-School Classes: Approximately 4:00 PM ? 8:00 PM (schedule may vary).
- Weekend Classes: Saturday and/or Sunday
- Part-time position with opportunities for additional teaching hours.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Diploma or Bachelor?s degree in Dance, Performing Arts, Dance Education, or a related field, or equivalent professional training and experience.
- Experience teaching dance to children and teenagers.
- Strong technical background in Ballet, Hip-Hop, K-Pop, Jazz, or multiple dance styles.
- Experience creating choreography for performances and student showcases.
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
- Ability to inspire, motivate, and engage young learners.
- Understanding of child development and age-appropriate instruction.
- Professional, reliable, organized, and punctual.
- Passion for dance education and student development.
Preferred Assets
- Ability to teach multiple dance genres.
- Professional performance or competition experience.
- Experience teaching in after-school programs, studios, recreational programs, or enrichment programs.
- First Aid/CPR certification is an asset.
- Experience organizing recitals, showcases, and community performances.
- Creative, patient, and student-centered teaching style.
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
