Prepress Technician

Location: 518 North Centerville Road, Sturgis, MI 49091 

Salary: up to $27

Shift: 1st Shift- 5am-3pm - four 10 hour shifts

Equipment: Kodak Software, Adobe Creative Suite, CGS ORIS proofing software

Job Description We are seeking a detail-oriented Prepress Technician to join our team. This role is responsible for preparing customer-supplied files for both offset and flexographic printing , ensuring all artwork is accurate, print-ready, and meets production standards.

The ideal candidate has strong experience in file preparation, color correction, and prepress workflows , and thrives in a fast-paced production environment.

Key Responsibilities

Pre-flight, troubleshoot, and prepare customer files for print production

Impose files and prepare layouts for final output and plating

Perform type corrections, color adjustments, and file optimization

Review and follow job tickets, customer specifications, and production guidelines

Prepare artwork for:

Offset printing (commercial and folding carton packaging)

Flexographic printing (conventional and digital)

Generate and review proofs to ensure accuracy and quality standards

Collaborate with Customer Service and production teams to meet deadlines

Maintain high levels of quality, accuracy, and productivity

Support color management processes for both Offset and Flexo divisions

Assist in maintaining proofing systems and troubleshooting prepress workflows

Help support and maintain LTi prepress systems

Required Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent

Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (required)

Experience in prepress, file preparation, and print production workflows

Ability to read and interpret job tickets and production specs

Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask

Effective communication skills with team members and management

Reliable attendance and ability to meet production schedules

Willingness to work overtime as needed

Team-oriented mindset

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Kodak software , including:

Prinergy Workflow

Kodak ColorFlow Pro

Preps

Pandora

Experience with CGS ORIS proofing software

Color management experience

Familiarity with variable data processing

Experience in folding carton, commercial print, or packaging environments

Skills & Competencies

High attention to detail and accuracy

Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills

Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines

Understanding of print production processes (offset & flexo)
