Electrical Technician

Performing the preventive maintenance activities & filling in the checklist for record keeping as per the schedule provided by BCTR. Supervising and performing small projects & maintenance activities as per BCTR’s directions, e.g. Electrical System Erection, Electrical Cabling / Wiring, Electrical equipment monitoring, Electrical component upgrade and replacement, and Electrical testing, etc. Supervising and performing repairing activity for HV transmission line, substation & components, transformers, power & control cables, MV switchgears, LV MCCs, motors, generators, distribution panels, lighting, grounding system, lightning protection system, switches, plugs, appliances, etc. Completing all the documentation of maintenance activities including maintaining history logs, Checklist, Schedules, etc. Accountable and responsible for the inventory of BCTR’s & highlighting the spare parts stock availability to BCTR & maintaining the spares in the designated area at the workshop. Performing 5S in each work area, being accountable for the cleanliness and tidiness of the work areas. Conducting safety/toolbox talk for his subordinates weekly. Attending daily maintenance meetings punctually. Ensuring attendance of Safety Meeting punctually. Able to standby during night, weekend and public holiday. Able to understand Permit to Work System & suitable for training on it for receival of Work Permit.

Qualifications: High Vocational Certificate or higher in electrical engineering (power) Minimum of 5 Years’ experience in petrochemical, chemical or power plant industry Certified Electrician LV 1 or higher, LV 2 (advantage) Possess practical skills in Electrical Works. Ability to read and write the documents in English. Basic knowledge of petrochemical, chemical or power plant equipment/plant. Basic knowledge of Motor, MCC, Transformer, Wiring diagram. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD. Strong electrical safety awareness attitude.
