What we’re looking for:

Salt Security is a leading cybersecurity company protecting APIs and modern applications in an increasingly AI-driven world. As we continue to scale, we are looking for a highly experienced, hands-on Controller to take ownership of our accounting and financial reporting processes.

This is a part-time, high-impact role with significant visibility. The ideal candidate goes beyond maintaining the books — they own the accounting function, anticipate problems before they escalate, and continuously drive efficiency. Strong technical accounting expertise combined with a practical mindset and a high degree of autonomy are a must.

About the position:

As our Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing core accounting operations, financial reporting, compliance, and tax-related activities for Salt Security. You will work closely with FP&A, Legal, HR, Operations, and external advisors to ensure accurate and timely reporting and a strong control environment.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Big 4 Manager, Assistant Controller, or experienced accounting professional who is looking for a flexible part-time role while continuing to have meaningful ownership and impact.

Responsibilities:

Own and manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with U.S. GAAP and Israeli statutory requirements

Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and intercompany accounting

Ensure accurate revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606, including review of complex customer arrangements

Manage and coordinate quarterly reviews and annual audits with external auditors

Oversee tax compliance processes and coordinate with external tax advisors

Maintain and strengthen accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls

Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting, and operational efficiency

Support the implementation and optimization of accounting systems, ERP functionality, automation, and AI-based tools

Partner closely with FP&A to ensure consistency and accuracy between accounting and management reporting

Collaborate with Legal, HR, Operations, and other cross-functional teams on accounting, compliance, and financial matters

Take ownership of special projects, financial analysis, and other ad hoc initiatives as the company scales

Proactively identify issues, develop solutions, and drive them through to completion

Requirements:

Who are you?

Licensed CPA with 2-3+ years of relevant post-internship experience in an Assistant Controller, Accounting Manager, or similar role

Big 4 experience required, including completion of a Big 4 internship

Alternatively, current or former Big 4 Manager with relevant accounting and audit experience

Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, with experience working with Israeli statutory accounting and reporting requirements

Strong understanding of ASC 606 and SaaS revenue recognition

Experience with NetSuite or a similar ERP system - preferred

Experience in a B2B SaaS / technology company - preferred

Excellent written and verbal English communication skills

Strong Excel skills and a highly analytical mindset

Strong organizational skills with the ability to independently manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Hands-on, ownership-driven mindset with a collaborative, cross-functional approach

Strong interest in leveraging AI and automation to improve finance processes and productivity
