About The Opportunity

Role & Responsibilities

• Maintaining accurate general ledgers and day-to-day bookkeeping
• Managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations
• Preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Preparing and filing tax returns, including VAT, PAYE, and corporate income tax
• Managing budgets, forecasts, and cash flow reports
• Supporting external audits and preparing supporting schedules
• Reviewing expenses, invoices, and supplier payments for accuracy
• Working with payroll and HR teams to align records
• Keeping financial records organised, confidential, and audit ready
• Recommending ways to improve financial processes and controls

Skills & Qualifications Must-Have

• 3+ years of professional experience in accounting or finance
• BSc, HND, or equivalent in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
• Working knowledge of IFRS or IFRS for SMEs
• Working knowledge of tax and statutory requirements in Ghana (GRA, VAT, PAYE, SSNIT) or Nigeria (VAT, PAYE, company income tax, pension contributions) as applicable
• Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Zoho Books, Xero, or Tally
• Strong Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables, and reconciliations
• High accuracy, attention to detail, and discretion with sensitive financial data
• Business fluent English, written and spoken
• Right to work in Ghana or Nigeria

Preferred

• Professional qualification or membership such as ICAG, ICAN, ANAN, ACCA, CIMA, or CPA
• Experience with audit preparation and working with external auditors
• Experience handling multiple currencies, such as GHS, NGN, USD, and EUR
• Experience supporting multi-entity or multi-country businesses
• Experience in SaaS, fintech, HR tech, logistics, or outsourcing businesses
• Experience with mobile money and payment platform reconciliations, such as MTN MoMo, Paystack, or Flutterwave
• Experience with Ghana Revenue Authority or Nigeria Revenue Service online filing portals
• Experience working in remote or distributed teams
