Structural Steel Shop Supervisor Location: Cocoa Beach, FL Job Type: Contract-to-Hire Starting Pay: From $30.00 per hour (higher compensation may be available based on experience) Position Summary We are looking for a hands-on Structural Steel Shop Supervisor to help lead daily operations in a busy steel fabrication facility. This position is responsible for coordinating shop activities, supporting production goals, and providing day-to-day leadership for welders, fitters, and other fabrication personnel. This role is ideal for someone with strong structural steel fabrication experience who enjoys mentoring employees, solving production challenges, and helping maintain a safe, efficient manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities Oversee daily production activities to help meet manufacturing schedules and deadlines.

Lead, mentor, and support welders, fitters, and other fabrication personnel.

Assign work based on production priorities and available resources.

Provide technical support for welding, fit-up, layout, and blueprint interpretation.

Resolve production and fabrication issues while minimizing delays.

Track workflow and communicate progress, scheduling updates, and production concerns.

Promote compliance with safety policies, quality requirements, and company procedures.

Work with maintenance personnel to help reduce equipment downtime.

Maintain an organized, clean, and safe shop environment.

Assist with employee training, onboarding, and ongoing skill development.

Coordinate with Quality Control to verify completed work meets specifications.

Support inspections, dimensional verification, and production documentation.

Perform additional supervisory duties as needed.

Qualifications Three or more years of experience supervising or leading teams in a structural steel fabrication environment.

Strong knowledge of structural steel fabrication, welding, fit-up, and layout processes.

Experience operating or working around CNC fabrication equipment and other shop machinery.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, and production documents.

Familiarity with manufacturing safety practices, quality standards, and production planning.

Experience using Tekla EPM/GO is preferred.

Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.

Willingness to work overtime, weekends, or flexible hours when production demands require.
