Migration Deployment Specialist – Scheduling (IBM Z Workload Scheduler)

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced scheduling migration specialist to support large-scale migrations to IBM Z Workload Scheduler (IZWS / IWS) . This role serves as a subject matter expert in batch scheduling conversion across development, test, and production environments.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and support migration of batch scheduling workloads to IBM Z Workload Scheduler .

Analyze legacy scheduling definitions from CA-7 , CA ESP , Jobtrac , BMC Control-M , and ASG Zeke/Zebb and map them to IBM scheduler structures.

Execute parallel tracking, schedule validation, dependency analysis, and issue resolution.

Monitor workload execution using TSO/ISPF and IBM scheduler interfaces.

Provide technical guidance and training to scheduling teams and operational staff.

Mandatory Skills and Experience

Strong mainframe background in OS/390 or z/OS

Deep hands-on experience with IBM Z Workload Scheduler (IZWS / IWS) .

Hands-on migration experience from Non-IBM / ISV scheduling platforms such as CA-7 , CA ESP , CA Workload Automation ESP , Jobtrac , BMC Control-M , or ASG Zeke/Zebb to IBM Z Workload Scheduler.

Strong TSO/ISPF editing skills and expert-level understanding of JCL .

Experience with dependency analysis, schedule validation, report review, and iterative parallel tracking

Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical collaboration and customer-facing work.

Preferred / Additional Skills

REXX programming skills.

Workload Automation Programming Language WAPL

Dynamic Workload Console familiarity.
