Infrastructure Facilities Operations Engineer (Batam)
The Infrastructure Facilities Operations Engineer is responsible for the operational performance, reliability, and compliance of all data centre facilities within Batam DC sites.
This role oversees power, cooling, mechanical & electrical (M&E) systems, environmental controls, life safety systems, and facility vendors. You will ensure sites operate at peak performance, meet uptime targets, and scale to support high-density AI workloads.
This is a strategic and hands-on leadership role requiring deep technical knowledge, operational rigor, and strong cross-functional collaboration.
What You'll Be Doing
Regional Facilities Operations Ownership
Oversee day-to-day facilities operations across multiple regional sites
Ensure continuous availability of critical infrastructure (UPS, generators, switchgear, chillers, CRAC/CRAH units, liquid cooling systems)
Maintain uptime in line with SLA and business requirements
Serve as regional escalation point for facility-related incidents
Reliability & Performance Management
Drive improvements in uptime, resiliency, and energy efficiency
Monitor key metrics (PUE, cooling efficiency, power utilization, capacity headroom)
Lead root cause analysis (RCA) for facility incidents and implement corrective actions
Ensure preventative maintenance programs are executed to global standards
Capacity & High-Density Readiness
Partner with infrastructure and engineering teams to ensure facilities can support high-density GPU deployments
Validate power and cooling capacity for expansion projects
Support rack density optimization and liquid cooling strategies where applicable
Oversee commissioning of new infrastructure and retrofits
Vendor & Contract Management
Manage third-party facility vendors and maintenance contractors
Oversee service contracts and ensure SLA adherence
Conduct vendor performance reviews and drive continuous improvement
Optimize regional facilities operating costs without compromising reliability
Compliance, Risk & Governance
Ensure compliance with local regulatory requirements and safety standards
Maintain audit readiness and documentation standards
Lead health, safety, and environmental (HSE) adherence across sites
Develop and maintain business continuity and disaster recovery readiness
About You
Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering
5+ years of experience in Data Centre Facilities operations or critical infrastructure management
Experience in high-density AI/HPC workloads
Strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems (UPS, generators, switchgear, cooling plants, CRAC/CRAH, liquid cooling)
Experience in managing multi-site and regional operations
Proven track record of maintaining high availability environments
Strong written and verbal English skills to manage tickets, document activities, and communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and colocation (colo) providers
Strong communication skills in Bahasa Indonesia
