Automation Test Engineer

As an Automation Test Engineer , you will be responsible for testing secure identity services and access workflows in a Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environment. This is a hands-on role where you will use automation-first practices to ensure quality across APIs, cloud integrations, and event-driven systems. You’ll collaborate with engineering, security, and DevOps teams to deliver robust, scalable IAM solutions.

Daily tasks

• Design, plan, and execute test strategies, test cases, and automation suites.
• Develop and maintain Python/Pytest frameworks for backend automation and API testing.
• Validate event-driven systems (Pub/Sub, queues) and policy testing logic.
• Integrate automated tests with CI/CD pipelines for continuous feedback.
• Track and manage defects in JIRA and produce audit-ready documentation.
• Contribute to Agile ceremonies and continuous improvement practices.

Requirements

2+ years in backend automation testing using Python and Pytest .

Understanding of Identity and Access Management (IAM) concepts.

Experience with REST API testing and tools (Postman, Insomnia).

Familiarity with event-driven systems , SCIM, OIDC, LDAP protocols.

Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Agile delivery.

Knowledge of cloud environments , ideally GCP.

Nice-to-Have

Policy-as-code testing exposure (OPA/Rego).

Performance testing knowledge (JMeter, Gatling).

Experience with orchestration tools, graph databases, or containerised tests.
