Accounting Manager (Contracting)
Contracting & Project Accounting: Manage the full project accounting cycle, including Work in Progress (WIP), percentage of completion, and cost-to-cost methods.
Guarantees & Retentions: Track and manage performance bonds, advance payment guarantees, and retention monies for clients and subcontractors.
Subcontractor Management: Review and approve subcontractor invoices, perform reconciliation, and ensure accurate withholding tax deductions.
Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with Egyptian Accounting Standards (EAS).
Tax & Compliance: Oversee all dealings with the Egyptian Tax Authority (ETA), ensuring accurate and timely filing of VAT, Income Tax, and Salary Tax. Manage Social Insurance registrations and monthly filings.
Treasury & Cash Flow: Monitor project cash flows, prepare cash flow forecasts, and manage banking relationships (Letters of Credit, LGs, etc.).
Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and develop a team of [insert number, e.g., 5] accountants and cost controllers.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Experience: 7 to 10+ years of accounting experience, with at least 3-5 years in a similar managerial role strictly within the Contracting industry.
Technical Skills: Expert knowledge of Egyptian Tax Laws and Social Insurance regulations.
Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or Easycorp/Oscar are highly preferred).
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Certifications: CMA, CPA, or Diploma in Accounting from the Egyptian Syndicate of Accountants and Auditors is a strong plus.
Language: Excellent command of Arabic and English (written and spoken).
Traits: High analytical skills, attention to detail, ability to work under pressure, and strong communication skills to deal with site engineers and project managers.
