Occupational Therapist – Physical Disabilities
Liquid Personnel is recruiting an experienced Occupational Therapist to join its client’s dedicated team in Newcastle, supporting adults with physical disabilities. This is a varied and rewarding role focused on promoting independence through tailored assessments, equipment provision, and environmental adaptations. The successful candidate will play a vital role in helping individuals live more safely and independently within their homes and communities.
What will your responsibilities be?
Carry out comprehensive assessments, including complex cases
Manage a full caseload independently
Advise health, social care, and voluntary sector professionals
Recommend and instruct on safe use of equipment
Liaise with contractors and agencies for major adaptations
Advise on re-housing where adaptations are unsuitable
Maintain accurate records on Carefirst and compile reports
Supervise OT students and contribute to in-house training
Stay up to date with legislation and best practice
Promote equality and contribute to service quality initiatives
Qualifications & Experience:
HCPC-registered Occupational Therapist
Experience working with adults with physical disabilities
Strong understanding of relevant legislation (e.g. Care Act, Mental Capacity Act)
Excellent communication and assessment skills
Commitment to CPD and service improvement
