Education & experience requirements

Technical Diploma. Higher National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant technical discipline preferred.

5 years of relevant experience in the oil and gas / petrochemical industry.

Core technical skills & industry codes

Knowledge of mechanical engineering and industrial automation.

Knowledge of downtime analysis and good knowledge of problem-solving tools.

Knowledge of maintenance management methods, predictive inspection tools, and CMMS (Computer Maintenance Management System).

Knowledge of preventative / predictive maintenance theory.

Expertise with centrifugal and reciprocating compressors, steam and gas turbines, pumps (centrifugal, positive displacement), fans, blowers, gearboxes, and mixers.

Strong focus on precision alignment, vibration, wear and tear, dynamic behavior analysis, and diagnosing internal component failures.

Experience in balancing, bearing replacements, mechanical seal changes, and monitoring lubrication or vibration analysis data.

Key responsibilities & deliverables

Manage the day-to-day operations of the assigned section; organize fabrication, repair, maintenance, and overhauling of all rotating mechanical parts used in the plant and facilities.

Support achievement of optimum plant integrity and reliability and effective upkeep of assets, ensuring adherence to HSE and quality guidelines.

Supervise day-to-day maintenance activities and manage all maintenance activities for rotating equipment for the assigned shift, ensuring safe and efficient execution.

Review current processes and procedures to ensure their optimization, implementing changes as necessary in collaboration with Engineer and Lead Engineer.

Act as the person in charge for the assigned maintenance area of work to coordinate general shift activities and make shift-wide decisions in line with defined delegation of authority levels.
