Accountabilities: Maintain, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair broadcast equipment, including high-power FM/HD and AM systems, digital audio, streaming infrastructure, studio equipment, automation systems, remote controls, satellite downlinks, and remote broadcast equipment.

Support studio technology and infrastructure, including Audio over IP (AoIP) networks, VoIP/telephone systems, UPS systems, computers, data networks, and related hardware.

Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot broadcast IT platforms and systems such as WideOrbit and Axia across studio and transmitter locations.

Ensure technical operations remain compliant with applicable FCC requirements by reviewing transmitter and studio logs, EAS testing, tower lighting requirements, and other regulatory obligations.

Plan and support technical facility development, including studios, transmitters, AoIP, VoIP, satellite systems, studio-to-transmitter links, networking, and backup power infrastructure.

Collaborate with corporate networking teams, vendors, and service providers to install, troubleshoot, and maintain ISP and network circuits.

Oversee critical infrastructure such as generators and UPS systems, including testing, fueling, maintenance coordination, and operational supervision.

Develop instructional materials and train operators on technical equipment, systems, and operating procedures.

Provide technical guidance and support to programming teams and external partners, maintaining clear communication throughout issue resolution and project activities.

Provide emergency technical support for equipment failures, including availability outside standard business hours, weekends, and holidays when required.

Contribute to additional engineering, maintenance, and technical initiatives as business needs evolve.

Requirements:

Minimum of 5 years of professional broadcast engineering experience, with strong hands-on knowledge of radio broadcast environments.

Associate degree in electronics or a related technical discipline is preferred.

Strong understanding of broadcast equipment, studio systems, transmitters, networking infrastructure, automation, audio systems, and related technologies.

Working knowledge of IT networking, including the ability to troubleshoot connectivity and infrastructure issues.

Knowledge of FCC rules, regulations, and compliance requirements applicable to broadcast operations.

Experience with technologies such as WideOrbit, Axia, AoIP, VoIP, satellite systems, remote control equipment, generators, and UPS systems is valuable.

FCC General Class License and/or SBE certification is a plus.

Strong troubleshooting, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with engineering, networking, programming, vendors, and other partners.

Flexibility to provide 24/7 emergency support and work varying schedules, including weekends and holidays when required.

Valid driver's license, satisfactory motor vehicle record, and appropriate vehicle insurance when personal vehicle use is required.
