PPDS Consultant

Accountabilities: The role focuses on leading SAP PP/DS functional consulting activities, from solution design and configuration through testing, deployment, and continuous optimization. The consultant will work closely with business stakeholders, technical teams, and integration partners to ensure successful delivery of production planning solutions.

Lead the design, configuration, and implementation of SAP PP/DS solutions for production planning, detailed scheduling, and sequencing.

Configure key PP/DS functionalities including block planning, campaign planning, setup groups, setup matrices, heuristics, and optimizer capabilities.

Collaborate with master data teams to ensure accurate configuration of materials, routings, bills of materials, production versions, work centers, resources, and capacity requirements.

Support integration between PP/DS and connected systems such as SAP IBP, SAP S/4HANA, and manufacturing execution systems.

Develop functional specifications, test scenarios, and documentation for implementation and rollout activities.

Execute unit testing, integration testing, and support user acceptance testing to validate scheduling logic and business requirements.

Facilitate workshops with business users, gather requirements, perform gap analysis, and translate needs into effective SAP configurations.

Provide go-live and post-implementation support by troubleshooting scheduling issues, optimizing resource utilization, and resolving planning conflicts.

Contribute to knowledge transfer, documentation improvements, and continuous enhancement of PP/DS processes.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate has strong SAP PP/DS implementation experience combined with manufacturing process knowledge and the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders. A hands-on consulting approach, analytical mindset, and strong communication skills are essential for success in this role.

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Information Systems, or a related discipline.

Minimum one full end-to-end SAP S/4HANA PP/DS implementation experience, with additional implementation experience preferred.

Proven hands-on configuration expertise in PP/DS block planning, campaign planning, setup groups/setup matrices, heuristics, and optimizer functions.

Strong understanding of PP/DS master data requirements, including materials, BOMs, routings, production versions, resources, work centers, and capacities.

Experience integrating PP/DS with SAP IBP, SAP S/4HANA, and manufacturing execution systems.

Ability to lead workshops, manage stakeholder discussions, capture business requirements, and translate them into system solutions.

Experience with Fit-to-Standard approaches, gap analysis, and documenting functional requirements.

Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

SAP PP/DS certification or equivalent qualification is preferred.

Experience in manufacturing environments involving sequencing constraints, campaign production, and advanced scheduling is advantageous.

Familiarity with SAP Activate methodology and Agile/Scrum delivery environments is a plus.

Knowledge of advanced scheduling board configuration, resource networks, MRP processes, and FI/CO impacts is beneficial.
