Technical Office Engineer - US Design Projects
About the company
Infracon is building an engineering design team that works directly with civil engineering firms in the United States. Our engineers produce planning, site, road, water, sewer and stormwater designs for real US projects, built to US state and county codes. This is a chance to build international design experience without leaving Egypt.
Your tasks
- Prepare civil designs and drawings for land development projects: site layout and grading, roads, water distribution, sanitary sewer and stormwater management.
- Read and apply US codes and standards, such as state transportation department road standards, county utility manuals and stormwater regulations, and produce designs that comply with them.
- Prepare calculations, quantities and design reports to support the drawings.
- Attend and contribute to online meetings with US clients, take notes and follow up on action items.
- Revise designs based on client review comments and keep work organized to client standards.
- Coordinate with senior engineers who review all work before delivery.
Requirements
- http://B.Sc. in Civil Engineering.
- 2 to 5 years of experience in infrastructure or land development design (roads, utilities, drainage or site works).
- Very good spoken and written English. You will read technical codes and speak with US engineers regularly.
- Ability to understand foreign engineering codes and turn them into compliant designs.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D is essential.
- Flexibility to adjust working hours to overlap with US time zones when needed. US Eastern time is 7 hours behind Cairo.
- Organized, detail-oriented and willing to learn quickly.
Nice to have
- Experience with US, Gulf or other international projects.
- Familiarity with hydraulic or stormwater software (e.g., WaterCAD, SewerGEMS, HydroCAD, Storm and Sanitary Analysis).
- Experience with road plan-and-profile design
