About us FRB Construction Systems is a CWB-certified specialty contractor in Port Coquitlam. We fabricate structural steel components in our own shop, and supply and install post-tensioning systems for bridge, marine, and industrial projects. We are looking for a skilled, detail-oriented Welder/Fitter to join our shop team.

Your tasks

What you?ll do

• Fit and weld structural steel components and assemblies to shop drawings, mainly GMAW (MIG) and FCAW
• Read shop drawings and welding symbols; measure, lay out, cut and drill parts
• Operate the band saw, drilling machines, flame-cutting torch and other shop equipment
• Rig and move material safely with the overhead crane and forklift
• Check your own work for dimensions, fit-up and weld quality before it moves on
• Occasional work at project sites
• Keep the work area clean and organized, and follow WorkSafeBC and shop safety procedures

Requirements

What you need

• 3+ years? experience fitting and welding structural steel
• Current CWB ticket (GMAW/FCAW), or able to pass a CWB test
• Read shop drawings and welding symbols accurately
• Experience with overhead cranes, forklifts and rigging
• Your own basic hand tools (tape, squares, level, scriber, hammer, pliers, wrenches), safety boots and hard hat
• Legally entitled to work in Canada

Assets: Red Seal Welder or Metal Fabricator (Fitter); SMAW; aluminum welding

What we offer

Pay: $28.00-$40.00 per hour
