Specific Role:

The EA/Parcel Shipment Technician is responsible for accurately preparing, packaging, labeling, and shipping finished Electronic Assembly (EA) products to customers while maintaining inventory accuracy, shipment quality, and on-time delivery. This role ensures all shipments meet customer specifications, carrier requirements, and EMIT quality standards while supporting safe, organized, and efficient shipping operations. Proper packaging, labeling, and documentation are critical to preventing shipping damage and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Key Accountabilities:

Shipment Preparation & Order Accuracy

Pick, verify, and package Electronic Assembly products according to sales orders, manufacturing orders (MO), and customer requirements.

Ensure the correct quantity, revision level, and product configuration are shipped with every order.

Inspect products prior to shipment to verify quality and identify any damage or discrepancies.

Complete all required shipping documentation accurately.

Communicate discrepancies or shortages to the appropriate department before shipment.

Packaging & Product Protection

Package products using approved materials and methods to prevent damage during transportation.

Select appropriate boxes, cushioning materials, and protective packaging based on product size, weight, and fragility.

Secure packages using approved sealing methods and prepare shipments according to carrier requirements.

Monitor packaging material inventory and report shortages or damaged materials.

Ensure all shipments meet customer-specific packaging requirements.

Shipping & Carrier Processing

Generate shipping labels using approved carrier software (UPS, FedEx, freight, or other approved carriers).

Verify shipping addresses, service levels, and customer shipping instructions.

Stage completed shipments for carrier pickup according to daily shipping schedules.

Coordinate with Shipping, Customer Service, and Production to ensure customer orders ship on time.

Assist with freight scheduling and shipment tracking as needed.

Inventory & System Accuracy

Perform required ERP (Microsoft Dynamics 365) transactions to maintain accurate inventory and shipment records.

Verify serial numbers, lot numbers, and quantities where applicable.

Report inventory discrepancies immediately.

Maintain accurate shipping logs and supporting documentation.

Assist with inventory reconciliation and transaction accuracy.

Quality & Continuous Improvement

Follow EMIT quality standards throughout the shipping process.

Identify opportunities to improve packaging efficiency, reduce shipping costs, and minimize shipping damage.

Participate in continuous improvement initiatives that improve workflow and customer satisfaction.

Assist with cycle counts and inventory audits as needed.

Support standard work and process improvements within the shipping area.

Safety & Workplace Organization

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shipping work area following 5S principles.

Operate pallet jacks, carts, barcode scanners, and shipping equipment safely and responsibly.

Follow all EMIT safety policies, procedures, and required PPE requirements.

Properly dispose of packaging waste and maintain clear aisles and workspaces.

Immediately report unsafe conditions, damaged equipment, or workplace hazards.

Participate in safety meetings, training, and continuous efforts to improve workplace safety.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED preferred.

Previous experience in shipping, warehouse, logistics, or manufacturing preferred.

Experience with parcel carriers such as UPS, FedEx, or LTL freight is preferred.

Basic computer skills and experience using ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics 365 preferred).

Ability to read and interpret work orders, shipping documents, and customer instructions.

Strong attention to detail with a commitment to inventory and shipping accuracy.

Ability to prioritize work and meet shipping deadlines in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Effective communication and teamwork skills.

Dependable, organized, and self-motivated with a strong work ethic.

Physical and Safety Requirements:

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. repeatedly.

Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift.

Ability to safely operate material handling equipment after training.

Ability to work in a manufacturing and warehouse environment with varying temperatures and noise levels.

Must wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow all EMIT safety policies and procedures.
