Your Work Will Matter
Data is at the heart of national security — and you'll be the one keeping it reliable, secure, and fast. As a Database Analyst supporting our Intelligence Community customer, you won't just manage databases. You'll help ensure that the people who depend on this data can trust it completely, every single day.
If you're a database professional who takes pride in clean architecture, rock-solid availability, and systems that just work — this is the role for you.
What You'll Own
Database Health & Performance
Keep databases running at peak performance through tuning, monitoring, and proactive alerting
Design and maintain efficient table structures for both transactional and data warehouse workloads
Collaborate with developers on schema design, query optimization, and stored procedures
Security & Reliability
Configure and enforce role-based access control (RBAC) and manage admin/service accounts
Maintain database integrity and ensure compliance with industry and regulatory standards
Implement and manage high-availability solutions so downtime is never an option
Migrations & Modernization
Plan and execute database upgrades, patching, and migrations with minimal disruption
Evaluate open-source and vendor tools to modernize the environment
Lead or support migration efforts across Oracle, MySQL, and PostgreSQL platforms
Backup, Recovery & Documentation
Own backup, restore, and snapshot strategies — because recovery speed matters
Maintain clear, thorough documentation for configurations, standards, and procedures
Develop and implement testing strategies and document results
What We're Looking For
Required:
5+ years of database analysis and/or administration experience
Hands-on PostgreSQL administration and performance tuning experience
Experience with PostgreSQL high-availability solutions and server agent alerts
Strong knowledge of backup, restore, migration, and snapshot technologies
Ability to build and maintain efficient table structures for transactional and warehouse data
Active TS/SCI clearance
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent experience
CompTIA Security+ or equivalent certification (recommended)
Bonus Points For:
Oracle 19c administration and performance tuning experience
Oracle, MySQL, or cross-platform migration experience
Familiarity with evaluating and onboarding vendor or open-source database tools
What to Expect Day-to-Day
You'll work with moderate autonomy — trusted to manage your workload and make good technical decisions without someone looking over your shoulder. You'll collaborate with developers and infrastructure teams, advise end-users on best practices, and participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours support. The work is varied, the problems are real, and the mission is meaningful.
